Wireless Configuration for Windows 8

Note: You may be prompted during the configuration process to choose whether the new connection is a Home, Work, or Public location. This setting controls the security for the wireless connection and it is recommended that you select Public location for maximum security.

  1. While viewing the Start panel, press and hold the Windows key on the keyboard and press the D key to exit the Start panel.
  2. On the bottom-right corner, locate and click the network icon in the system tray.

  3. From the list
    1. For Faculty or Staff: Click IPFW Faculty Staff > Connect

    2. For Students: Click IPFW Student > Connect

  4. Make sure Use my Windows user account is unchecked.
  5. Enter your IPFW username and password in the User name and Password fields and click OK

    1. Note: You may be prompted to verify that you want to connect to IPFW Faculty Staff or IPFW Student. click Connect to confirm.

    2. Note: You may be prompted again to enter your login information shown in step 5. If you are, enter your information and click Connect.
